The second-highest peak in the Lemhi Range and, by reputation, its most spectacular summit, capped by a distinctive dome ("the Bell").
The route begins around 6,400 feet, following a ridge up through aspens, sagebrush, and Douglas-fir to treeline at about 10,000 feet, then continues along a long ridge traverse to the summit dome. The final climb up the Bell itself follows a rib on the peak's west face -- a steep, rewarding scramble.
