The highest non-volcanic peak in Washington and in the entire Cascade Range, Bonanza Peak sits deep in the Glacier Peak Wilderness above the former mining town of Holden. Three large glaciers flank its flanks and the summit requires Class 4 climbing on the standard route.

History
First climbed in 1937 by Curtis James and party. The peak rises above Holden Village, a former copper mining settlement that is now a Lutheran retreat center accessible by ferry on Lake Chelan. Its remoteness and Class 4 summit keep it uncrowded despite its status as the highest non-volcanic Cascade peak.
