A long, non-technical scramble to the highest peak of the Dakobed Range aside from Glacier Peak itself, reached via the White River and Boulder Creek valleys while avoiding Clark's glaciated north and east flanks entirely.
Drive to Coles Corner on US 2, then north on the Lake Wenatchee/White River Road (SR 207 then Forest Road 6400) to its end, about 11 miles. Hike the White River Trail, mostly level and easy, about 4 miles to its junction with the Boulder Creek Trail, just past the bridge over Boulder Creek. Turn onto the Boulder Creek Trail; at 4,000 feet the trail crosses Boulder Creek itself (wade or find a log crossing), then continues to a suggested campsite in a large open basin at 4,900 feet, about 7.5 miles from the trailhead. From camp, travel southwest toward a notch in Clark's south ridge, then northwest toward the summit, avoiding the glaciated Walrus Glacier on the peak's east side entirely.
Return by the same route: notch, basin camp, Boulder Creek Trail, and White River Trail back to the trailhead.
