Copper Basin Knob is a distinctive rocky knob at the south end of Idaho's Copper Basin, in the Pioneer Mountains. Despite looking like a technical objective from a distance, the peak has a Class 3 scramble route up its west ridge.
Access is via the Lake Creek Trail/ATV road (FST-4064), reached from the Lake Creek Recreation Area on the Copper Basin Loop Road (FSR-138). Hike the trail about 2.25 miles to a clearing where Copper Basin Knob and the ridge saddle to its west are both visible, then leave the trail at about 8,480 feet and bushwhack northeast through field grass and timber toward the ridge saddle. Scramble up the west side of an ill-defined, loose scree gully; higher up, a game trail on the gully's east side leads to the ridge saddle at about 10,020 feet.
