The 4th-highest peak in Idaho and the high point of the Lemhi Range, a large pyramid that dominates the range's northern skyline and is part of Idaho's "12ers" list.
Access is via Pass Creek Road (Forest Road 181) from Idaho Highway 28, just south of Lone Pine. Follow Pass Creek Road about 2 miles east to a two-track heading north, cross Pass Creek, and climb onto the flats above; at the next junction take the left fork east above the North Fork of Pass Creek (4WD recommended from this point) and stay left at the following junction. From treeline, the East Ridge climbs about 3,000 feet to the summit in a scramble that offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and the Birch Creek Valley some 6,000 feet below.
