A northern Lemhi Range summit just over a mile from Big Creek Peak, most often climbed in combination with it.
Most parties reach Flatiron Mountain via the connecting ridge from Big Creek Peak: from Big Creek Peak's summit, follow the ridge southeast on broken rock (goat trails help) to a narrow, rocky saddle at about 10,500 feet, a straightforward 20-minute descent, before continuing to Flatiron.
