The highest of the Spanish Peaks, visible across the Gallatin Valley and popular with backcountry skiers for its many north-facing couloirs in winter.
The most-used approach starts at the Lower North Fork Trailhead in Big Sky, following the North Fork Trail for several miles into the Spanish Peaks. Alternative approaches include the South Fork of Spanish Creek (via the Spanish Creek Trailhead, crossing a private ranch on a signed route) and the Indian Ridge Trail, farther up Gallatin Canyon across from Squaw Creek.
