One of the hardest-to-access peaks in the heart of the Beartooths, just shy of 12,000 feet, climbed via a permanent snowfield to a shared saddle with neighboring Bowback Mountain.
The standard approach follows the Snow Creek drainage toward a permanent snowfield below the Bowback/Inabnit saddle (the exact trailhead and lower approach were not fully detailed in the sources found, but the area is reached from the East Rosebud side of the range). At 10,200 feet, the route reaches the base of the snowfield and climbs easy snow to 10,900 feet, where the slope steepens to about 40 degrees. Above, pass left of a small rock band at 11,000 feet and continue to the Bowback/Inabnit saddle at 11,475 feet, watching for a cornice or ice at the top of the snowfield. From the saddle, ascend the east ridge directly on Class 2 rock for 0.35 mile to the small cairn marking Inabnit's summit.
Most parties retrace their steps down the snowfield to Snow Creek. A more adventurous descent option drops south from the saddle past Lake Susanne and down Whirlpool Creek to reach the East Rosebud Trail near Rainbow Lake, though this requires crossing East Rosebud Creek.
