Mount Oxford's standard route, almost always climbed by first summiting neighboring Mount Belford and crossing the connecting saddle.
The route shares Mount Belford's approach from the Missouri Gulch Trailhead off Chaffee County Road 390, climbing the northwest ridge to Belford's summit at 14,202 feet. From Belford, descend the connecting ridge toward Oxford, dropping about 600 feet to the saddle between the two peaks. Climb the remaining distance to Oxford's summit at 14,153 feet on a mix of trail and talus.
Reverse the connecting ridge back over Belford's summit before descending Missouri Gulch — the 600-foot re-climb back over Belford is the sting in the tail of this route.
