A remote, rarely-visited summit north of the main Beartooth crest, reached via a long bushwhack and talus climb up the Chicken Creek drainage.
Starting a short distance east of the West Rosebud Trailhead, the route climbs grassy, sparsely forested slopes north, staying well west of Chicken Creek itself. Bushwhacking is heaviest in a stretch between two benches around 7,700-8,100 feet. Above the benches, the route follows the left fork of Chicken Creek westward past a series of small waterfalls to an unnamed lake at 8,680 feet below Ram Lake, gaining roughly 3,000 feet from the trailhead before treeline is even cleared. Above treeline, huge boulder fields lead another 2,600 feet to the southeast ridge and the summit, for a total of nearly 6,000 feet of gain -- a serious undertaking that likely sees fewer than ten ascents a year.
