The most prominent peak in the Pasayten Wilderness, reached by trail nearly to its summit — a long backpack rather than a technical climb.
Access is via the Chewuch River Road north of Winthrop, using either the Andrews Creek Trailhead (about 3,000 feet) or the Thirtymile Trailhead at road's end (3,420 feet); a former fire lookout site atop the peak was historically reached from Andrews Creek via the Coleman Ridge trail. From the Chewuch River Trail, continue up Four Point Creek or the Fire Creek Trail to reach the drainage below Remmel's southeast basin, where the Remmel Mountain Trail begins and climbs directly toward the summit on established tread for most of its length.
