The standard route up this Sheep Mountain, a summit on the main crest of Idaho's Lemhi Range between Gilmore Peak and Big Windy Peak. A high-clearance 4WD road climbs partway up the peak's south ridge, and the remainder of the ascent follows the ridge crest north to the summit.
Access is via the mining road used for the Spring Mountain Canyon approach, which a vehicle with 4WD and careful driving can follow to about 9,800 feet on the peak's south ridge. From the end of the drivable road, follow the ridge crest north toward the summit, staying on or near the crest with minimal up-and-down travel.
