A broad, flat-topped summit across the West Fork valley from Whitetail Peak, climbed from a base camp at scenic Shadow Lake.
From the West Fork Rock Creek Trailhead, follow the main trail toward Quinnebaugh Meadow and on to Shadow Lake, which also serves as a popular base for Castle Mountain and Whitetail Peak. From Shadow Lake, continue up-valley staying close to the main creek (avoid climbing the slopes just above the lake, which lead into bushwhacking). Stay on the north side of the creek across grass and talus to the lower Silt Lake, then follow the base of the surrounding cliffs as they curve north, scrambling up talus and ledges onto the summit plateau.
