Torreys' standard route, sharing its approach with neighboring Grays Peak before a final Class 2 climb to Torreys' own summit.
From I-70 westbound, take the Bakerville exit (Exit 221) onto Stevens Gulch Road; stay left/uphill at the Grizzly Gulch fork to reach the Stevens Gulch (Grays-Torreys) trailhead. From the trailhead at about 11,255 feet, cross Stevens Gulch Creek on a wooden footbridge and follow the trail up the gulch. Near the top of the switchbacks, bear right toward the broad saddle between Grays and Torreys rather than continuing left to Grays. From the 13,700-foot saddle, climb Torreys' final slope directly to the summit; there is often a semi-steep snow slope on this section into early summer.
Reverse the route back through the saddle and down Stevens Gulch. Most climbers combine this with Grays Peak, descending to the shared saddle and climbing Grays before returning together via the same trail.
