A 75-mile section through the Alpine Lakes Wilderness — the heart of the Washington Cascades — passing dozens of alpine lakes, granite peaks, and the stunning Chikamin Ridge.

Segment Description

One of the most popular PCT sections in Washington due to its accessibility from Seattle. The trail passes through the core of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, crossing Chikamin Ridge, traversing past Lake Valhalla, and offering continuous views of glacier-carved terrain. The section ends at Stevens Pass ski area on US-2.

Approach

Snoqualmie Pass on I-90, Stevens Pass on US-2. Both are accessible year-round by car. Section can be broken into multiple day trips or done as a multi-day backpack.
