The southernmost major volcano in the Cascade Range and the largest plug dome volcano in the world, Lassen Peak last erupted from 1914 to 1921. A maintained trail leads to the summit through Lassen Volcanic National Park, making it one of the most accessible Cascade peaks.

History
Active from 1914 to 1921 in the only Cascade volcanic eruption before Mount St. Helens in 1980. The mountain and surrounding area are protected as Lassen Volcanic National Park, established in 1916 partly in response to the eruptions.
