A popular ski touring objective accessed via the top of the Pine Marten chairlift at Mount Bachelor Ski Resort, the summit tour is a non-technical snow climb with excellent descent options in all aspects. A great introduction to ski mountaineering in the Cascades.
From the top of the Pine Marten lift (7,800 ft), skin or boot up the broad southwest ridge to the summit (9,065 ft). The summit offers 360-degree views and descent options on all aspects — north-facing shots hold powder longest. Return to the resort via your chosen line.
Park at the Mount Bachelor Ski Resort lot and purchase a lift ticket for access to the Pine Marten lift. Skin access is also permitted from the resort base but adds significant mileage.
Descend to the resort via your chosen aspect. All lines eventually return to resort terrain.
